Your donations will help us finish post-production (think editing, sound, music, and color) and cover the costs of getting our magical little film into festivals. Earlier this year, we asked for your help to bring Witch, Please! to life—and you showed up in a big way. Because of your generosity, we were able to film our entire story with a powerhouse cast, an all-Black crew, and stunning locations that matched the magic of our vision.

Now, the cameras have stopped rolling, but our journey is far from over. We’re in the crucial postproduction stage, where our raw footage transforms into the finished film audiences will see. This includes:

Editing – weaving the story together seamlessly
Sound Design & Mixing – giving life to every whisper, spell, and heartbeat
Original Score – music that carries the film’s emotional magic
Color Grading & Visual Finishing – crafting our rich, cinematic look
Festival Submissions – sharing Witch, Please! with audiences across America in 2026

This second and final fundraising round will ensure the magic we’ve created can be seen, heard, and felt by everyone we made it for.

Fantasy has always promised boundless imagination—worlds of witches and wizards, dragons and heroes, mermaids and magic. But in those stories, one thing has remained glaringly consistent: the heroes are almost never Black women. When we appear, it’s often in the background of someone else’s journey, our stories untold, our magic unseen.

At Just Us Media, we believe that has to change. Black women deserve to see themselves at the heart of fantastical adventures—saving the day, wielding the magic, and shaping the destiny of entire worlds. Our short film, Witch, Please!, does exactly that. It’s bold, it’s unapologetic, and it’s rooted in the beauty, power, and resilience of Black sisterhood.

This story isn’t just entertainment—it’s a reclamation. Witch, Please! draws inspiration from the spiritual traditions and ancestral connections often lost to Black Americans through history, honoring our heritage while telling a story about unity, resilience, and redemption.

Thanks to our community’s support, we’ve completed production with an all-Black crew and an extraordinary cast. Now, we’re in our final stretch—raising funds for postproduction: editing, sound, original music, and festival submissions. Without this step, the magic we’ve captured can’t reach the audiences who need to see it most.

This is about more than finishing a film. It’s about reshaping the fantasy genre, expanding its possibilities, and ensuring that Black women can see themselves—not just in the story, but leading it.
